Within the walls of the 13th century Savoyard castle, which merits a
visit in its own right, is housed the museum whose permanent
exhibition traces 6'000 years of the uninterrupted history of Yverdon
and its region. In addition, other sections present navigation in
antiquity concentrated around two Gallo-Roman boats, Egyptian
antiquities and an exhibition dedicated to the famous educationalist
Pestalozzi.
New exhibitions present the more recent history of Yverdon (19th-20th
cent.), its revolutions, the democratization of the society, the
"Belle Epoque" of its thermal baths, its industries and education
system.
